Golf Camp in Marrakech: How to Choose the Right Format

Choosing your golf camp in Marrakech

A golf camp in Marrakech can transform your game in just a few days, as long as you choose the format that matches your goal. Want to fix a specific fault? Learn to manage the course better? Or simply play lots of golf with a pro by your side? Those aren't the same camps. Here's how to make the right choice.

Start with your goal, not the destination

Before comparing prices or hotels, ask yourself one simple question: what do I want to take home from this camp?

  • A more reliable swing, better contact, fewer lost balls.
  • A solid short game: chipping and pitching, bunker shots, putting.
  • Better course management: club selection, strategy, routine, mental game.
  • Play and enjoyment, with advice in real situations.

The first three goals call for structured coaching. The last one mainly calls for lots of rounds, with good support. That's exactly the difference between my two formats in Marrakech.

Progression camp or Signature Trip: the real difference

The progression camp: tailor-made, all year round

The progression camp in Marrakech is built around your game. We start with an assessment, set priorities and work on the driving range, the short game areas and the course. It runs all year round, over 2 to 5 days, on your own or with up to 3 players.

Three packages:

  • Beginner: to learn the basics and get out on the course with confidence.
  • Semi-intensive: 3-hour half-days of coaching. €160 on your own, €105 per person for two, €87 per person for three.
  • Intensive: full days, quote on request.

Green fees are not included. This is the format for those who want to improve technically and leave with a clear plan.

The Signature Trip: play with me

The Signature Trip is a golf trip. The heart of the programme is playing: 18 holes a day, with me on the course. We warm up together at Domaine Lamrah, debrief over dinner, and the last day ends with a scramble where I play as the joker.

It comes in two formats, every month from October to June: a Weekend and a Full week (with a day off to recharge). The group is limited to 6 players. Accommodation at Domaine Lamrah, transfers, breakfasts and green fees are included. The price is given when you book.

This is the option for those who want to learn by playing: strategy, handling difficult shots, routine, attitude after a bad hole. Everything you don't see on the driving range.

How long should a golf camp be?

How long you need depends on your availability, but also on how much information you can absorb.

  • 2 days: perfect for an assessment and one or two priorities. You leave with a practice plan.
  • 3 to 4 days: the right balance. There's time to correct, test on the course and fine-tune.
  • 5 days or a week: ideal for real change, as long as you build in rest. Beyond 4 intense days, fatigue lowers the quality of your practice.

My advice: don't try to change everything in one week. Two priorities worked on properly are worth more than ten fixes forgotten the following month.

Level, solo or group: how to decide

Beginner: the progression camp's Beginner package is made for you. The Signature Trip assumes you can play 18 holes a day at a normal pace.

Handicap index 15 to 25: both formats work. If you feel your technique is holding you back (lost balls, inconsistent strike), start with a progression camp. If your technique is sound but your scores don't follow, the Signature Trip will teach you to play better with what you already have.

Experienced players: the intensive progression camp allows for fine-tuning, with precise TrackMan measurements if needed.

Alone or with others? On your own, all the attention is on you. With two or three, the cost per person drops and the atmosphere is often more motivating. Ideally you'll be at a similar level, or at least have compatible goals. In a group of 6 on the Signature Trip, the group dynamic is part of the experience.

Budget: what you really need to allow for

To compare two golf camps in Marrakech, look at what's included:

  • Coaching: the actual number of hours with the coach, not just the length of the trip.
  • Green fees: included or not? They vary by course and season, so check with the club.
  • Accommodation: at Domaine Lamrah, academy players get 15% off.
  • Transfers between the hotel and the courses.
  • Driving range balls, plus club or golf cart hire if needed.

A camp that looks cheaper can end up costing more if everything is extra. On the other hand, an all-inclusive package simplifies the logistics and lets you focus on your golf.

Questions to ask before you book

Whether with me or another coach, ask these questions:

  • How many hours of actual coaching per day?
  • What's the maximum number of players per coach?
  • Is there an assessment at the start and a written plan at the end?
  • How much of the work happens on the course, not just at the driving range?
  • What's included, and what do I pay for myself?
  • What follow-up after the camp?

The last question is the most important. Many golf camps have a great effect on the spot that disappears within three weeks. What makes the difference is what you can do on your own once you're home.
